Sunshine!

We began the afternoon by splitting from our partner school who went off kayaking, whilst we headed back down to the town to buy some souvenirs and explore the town in more detail.  We sat in the sun and did some Maths problems and brushed up our French of course.

It was really warm and to celebrate, the children did roly-polys down the meadows before joining their friends for more games and even a spot of sunbathing.

This evening, it was back over the wobbly bridge for the last time for races and sports as the sun set ahead of us.  Some friendships are now quite strong so it will be sad to have to leave them tomorrow morning.

6W, the monkey bridge/rope was like a trapeze and it took some guts to cross it.  The rock climbing was on real rocks and you just went up as far as you could before being lowered down.  We'll show you all the photos when we get back.

This may be our last blog before getting back to school as we set off tomorrow for our journey home. It's been a great trip!  See you back at All Saints.
Bonjour tout le monde.
Lovely to hear from you.
Was your rock climbing exerience on real rocks or a wooden tower like at Colomendy?
We are intrigued to know what exactly is the 'monkey bridge'?
We've had a look at some of the photos and you all look like you're having a good time.
It looks like the wobbly bridge has water underneath...hope you can all swim!
Au revoir mes amis

Long Walk to the Temple

Up early again for games before breakfast, this time lots of skipping.  By now, many of us are making good friends as you can see in this picture.

Then, off we all went for a five kilometre walk through woodland and fields to another attractive castle that has been converted into a Hindu temple and place of learning.

Inside the temple, we were shown round by an English guide and learnt lots about this interesting religion.  We even sang the Hare Krishna song in the temple.

Fortunately , it was a bus that brought us back to our accommodation, where beef and chips were waiting.

Hi Y6 W and thanks for your message.  The food has been great and no, the zip wire in Colomendy was better.  But it was still good.  The girls have done better at making friends such as Cristal and Louisa.  Have a look at the photos.

Durbuy and Climbing

Our afternoon has been a real mixture.  We started with a walk down to the town of Durbuy where we learnt about its history and that of the family who still live in the castle there. The place is amazing, a real medieval town.  We then practised our French at a local cafe and ate some of the local delicacies.

The cloud began to lift as we made our way back over the wobbly bridge and up to the rock climbing area.  There we had a go at not just rock climbing but also abseiling and the monkey bridge.  Thanks to a fantastic instructor called Gilles, some brave children did some things they thought they could never do.  Very impressive.

Now, it's evening games after spaghetti for dinner, followed by the stars of 'Annie' performing some of their songs to the Belgian children.  Sleep well and see you tomorrow...

Natural Art

Morning in the forest playing games and then making art of of the natural environment. Which do you prefer?
Hello everyone. Sounds like your having a ball!
Glad you've made new friends- what are their names?
Was the zip wire better than the one in Colomendy?
Interested to hear what activities you'll be doing today.
What's the food like?
Bye. Miss you all!
